Places/District Taught
My mission in life (whether educational, occupational, or recreational) is to be an exemplary presence in the lives of others by being diverse in thought, constructive in interaction, and welcoming in the reception of people and ideas. Within these interactions, I will be knowledgeable in content, professional in presentation, dynamic in delivery, and passionate about the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge. My goal is to tap into the quality worlds of individuals to effectively engage, communicate, collaborate, and produce positive results.
My Path in education
Four school districts- - -five high schools- - - one university- - -thousands of students! I've spent the bulk of my professional career transforming how students learn. As a high school English/Communications teacher, my job was filled with many responsibilities that did not end with instruction, assessment, and evaluation. It required ongoing communication with parents and administrators regarding student success. It required effective collaboration with teachers and support staff for student and curriculum development. It required meticulously managing student data/records and providing timely feedback to all students. In addition, it required me to have numerous roles: Teacher, athletic coach, forensics coach, teacher leader, class advisor, mentor teacher, curriculum lead, etc. For over 20 years, I worked at mastering the ability to adapt, multitask, think critically, and problem solve...all of which I continue to enhance daily.
